The fourteenth series of the BBC motoring show Top Gear, starring presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, premiered on the 15th of November, 2009 and concluded on the 3rd of January, 2010. It was the first series to be filmed and broadcast entirely in 1080i HD, as opposed to the first thirteen series, which aired in 576i SD. It was the final series to feature the Chevrolet Lacetti as the show's Reasonably Priced Car.

Despite fears surrounding host Clarkson following his eulogy on the supercar during the previous series' finale, with some sources believing he was to depart from Top Gear following the conclusion of the show's thirteenth series, he remained in his position of lead presenter for the next 8 series.

Viewing figures dropped by almost half a million viewers per episode, with 6.69 million viewers tuning in each week on average. In a reversal of fortune, that series' special set in Bolivia would mark the only time an episode surpassed 7 million viewers, with over 7.45 million watching the special on the night it aired. Said special would also be the highest rated episode of the series by a significant margin, with a 9.1/10 score on IMDb, one of only three episodes to do so. As the show continued to ride on its wave of success, Series 15 would premiere in June 2010.

  • Series 14 is also the last series to be aired around November-December time. Subsequent series would either air in June or January.
