Season 2 of the US adaptation of Top Gear aired on the History Channel during 2011 and 2012. Adam Ferrara, Tanner Foust, and Rutledge Wood all returned for the second season which consisted of sixteen episodes. The second season aired in two parts with the first beginning on the 24th of July 2011 and the second beginning on the the 14th of February 2012.
|Texas||With the economy is turmoil the presenters attempt to find an alternative to the gas-guzzling pick up truck in the form of $2000 two door clunkers. In a journey across the state of Texas each attempts to prove that theirs is superior through a slew of challenges.|
|First Cars||The presenters battle it out to see who had the best first cars by buying their old models again and subjecting them to a serious of challenges.|
|America's Strongest Pickup||The presenters head into the mountains to crown America's toughest pickup truck. Their tests involve a drag race, torque challenge, hill climb, and a test of who can pull the heaviest object with their cars.|
The presenters attempt to find the best second hand 4x4 available by buying some online and then heading on an off-road adventure through the majestic but dangerous Death Valley hauling their accomodation all the way.
|Luxury Car Challenge||The guys head to New Jersey to find the best second hand luxury car on the market. To find out whose is best they ride to the Hamptons and attempt to impress the locals. Tanner drifts the new Porsche 911 through the streets of Los Angeles|
|The $500 Challenge||How much car can you get for $500? That's the question the presenters try to answer as they head on a 500 mile road trip up the coast of California. Along the way they subject their cars to a forensic test, see who can push their car the fastest, see who can break into each others cars the fastest, and race to the Twin Peaks.|
Rutledge and Adam are sick of Tanner winning everything so they dedicate an episode to attempting to find something with cars that Tanner can't do. They challenge him to all sorts of car-based mayhem including breaking the indoor speed record.
|Hollywood Cars||The presenters fight over which is the best car from the big screen in a series of movie-related stunt challenges. Tanner also races the new Subaru WRX STI against dirt bike rider through a ghost town.|
The presenters attempt to learn how to drive big rigs in one afternoon competing in a series of challenges to see who is the best trucker. The challenges culminate in hauling some expensive and explosive cargo across town.
|Muscle Cars||Which is the best muscle car currently available? To find out the presenters each choose their favourite modern car and then meet up to battle it out for supremacy.|
|Dangerous Cars||The presenters try to find the world's most dangerous car by competing in a series of death-defying challenges including a demolition derby. In order to make Adam a better driver Rutledge insist he take a spin in the Ariel Atom.|
|Continental Divide||To find out what America's best second hand covered wagon is the presenters head to the Rockies for an off road road-trip over the Continental Divide.|
|Supercars||The presenters see which is best out of a Lamborghini, Bentley, and Porsche in a series of challenges before pitching their cars to Donald Trump in the heart of New York City.|
|Limos||The presenters each attempt to build their own limousine before chauffeuring a celebrity to the Emmy award ceremony.|
|Rut's Show||To celebrate the 25th episode of Top Gear USA, Rutledge is given control of the show and allowed to do whatever he wants. Rutledge enrols himself in a professional race, attempts to chauffer drunk people home, and invent a solution to the constant problem of electric cars running out of electricity.|
|Worst Cars||The presenters attempt to find the worst car in the history by buying each other some of the worst cars around. To determine whose is the worst the presenters attempt to sell their cars at an auction for the most money.|
