Top Gear China refers to two Chinese adaptions of the popular BBC television series, Top Gear. Top Gear Zhuigaodang refers to the first attempt on Hunan TV in 2011, whereas Top Gear China is closely associated with the 2014 Shanghai Dragon TV Series. Zhuigaodang began to air on the 23rd of April 2011 and ended on the 27th of December that same year, Top Gear China premiered on the 12th of November 2014.

Similar to other adaptions of Top Gear, these shows are presented by three hosts. The Hunan TV crew consisted of Huang Zheng, Cau Yunjin and Li Rui. The presenters of the Shanghai Dragon seriesare Richie Jen, a pop star, motor journalist and a rally driver; Tian Liang, an actor and a two time Olympic gold medalist in diving; and Cheng Lei, a popular presenter in Shanghai Dragon TV.

Both attempt's format is extremely similar to Top Gear UK. Top Gear China has a car review, news section, challenges, a segment similar to Top Gear UK's Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car, a China-built Ford Focus is used for the Shanghai Dragon series, and epic races .
