Charlie Cox (aged 55) is an Australian racing driver, journalist, motorcycle commentator and television and radio presenter. Cox presented the initial season of Top Gear Australia, along with Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati. However, Cox did not have the time to continue filming, so he left the show and was replaced by James Morrison for the second season.

Racing Career[]

Charlie raced in a Ford Escort RS Cosworth for the National Saloon Car Cup and Willhire 24 Hour races in 1992 and 1993. In 1995, Charlie entered the British Touring Car Championship, and raced in a Ford Mondeo, becoming a wide and famous sensation. However, a crash ruined his career for a brief period of time. Nevertheless, Cox returned to BTCC and became the first person to race in the new Mondeo hatchback. He occasionally also races in the Bathrust 1000.

After a successful racing career, Cox turned towards commentary and used to do it in BTCC races, but after BBC lost the BTCC coverage rights, he began commentating for motorcycle races, and currently commentates in MotoGP races for the BBC.
