The Economic Lodge was a hotel that Top Gear presentersJeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May stayed in during part one of the two-part Africa Special, which aired as the sixth episode of series nineteen. The Economic Lodge was dubbed to be "the worst hotel in the world" by Clarkson. All three presenters were horrified by the quality of the hotel; the rooms all leaked, the beds were of a terrible quality, the sheets were dirty, and the entire hotel smelt. The Economic Lodge is located in a town called Fort Portal which is in rural Uganda. It was the only hotel the presenters stayed in during the Africa Special.
